Have you been wanting to read the classics but don't have the time? No homework for this book club!  We will meet every 3 or 4 weeks and read as we go.  The first half hour we will go around and read aloud (you can pass if you don't want to read). The second half hour will be discussion. If you can't make every meeting or want to join later, no problem.  The page number where we left off will be updated for every event listing. This is the first meeting.

Persuasion is Jane Austen's last completed novel published posthumously in 1817. Set in England, Anne Elliot meets her former fiance Captain Wentworth again after eight years and the spark is reignited. Like other Jane Austen novels, Persuasion is a satire on Victorian social mores, but this novel is considered her most mature work.
